During our Harvest collection, we asked pupils and their families for donations for local food banks, and some boys from our School Council recently delivered half of the generous contributions—totalling an impressive 70.55 kg, the equivalent of a young female jaguar—to the Epping Forest Food Bank.
The delivery was not just about transporting donations; it served as a vital lesson in empathy and community responsibility. Each item collected represents the commitment of our pupils and their families to support neighbours facing food insecurity. Our efforts were recognised with a Certificate of Appreciation, underscoring the positive impact of our contributions.
The other half of our donations went to Noah’s Ark Community Hub, further expanding our support for those in need. This allows our pupils to understand the critical role they play in their community and fosters a sense of pride in giving back.
As they carried the donations, the boys learnt that every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant difference. Through this experience, we are instilling essential values that will guide them throughout their lives.
The collaboration between our school and local food banks exemplifies the power of community and the positive change we can create when we work together.
