Skipping into Fitness: Sessions with Dan the Skipping Man

Before half-term, our boys had an exciting opportunity to take part in skipping workshops led by Dan the Skipping Man. These fun and high-energy sessions introduced them to a variety of skipping skills, helping to improve their coordination, fitness, and confidence in an enjoyable and supportive environment.

Loyola Reception pupil skippingSkipping is a fantastic way to boost cardiovascular health, agility, and overall well-being. It also encourages perseverance, as the boys worked hard to master new tricks while cheering each other on. The sessions were a huge hit, with plenty of smiles, laughter, and a real sense of achievement.

To ensure skipping remains a regular and inclusive activity at school, we also ran a dedicated session for our Teaching Assistants and break-time supervisors. This training gave staff the skills and confidence to support children with skipping in the playground, helping to keep them active and engaged during break times.

A huge thank you to Dan the Skipping Man for inspiring both our students and staff! His team’s mission is to make skipping accessible to all, and their website offers skipping ropes, tutorials, and training resources to help keep the momentum going.
