Science

We understand that Science has dramatically changed our lives and will continue to do so in the future, which is why good scientific knowledge is vital to our children to enable them to take an active part in the future of our society. Our curriculum encompasses each of the scientific disciplines; biology, chemistry and physics, and is not only knowledge based but includes the development of scientific skills.

Pupils are encouraged to be led by their curiosity, develop an enquiring mind and seek answers independently. Subsequently, they will analyse and present their findings.

We use a variety of learning experiences and use our outdoor space and the wider locality whenever possible. Educational visits and visitors into school are used to give our children the opportunity to have experiences that will inspire them to develop a love of science.

“Science, my lad is made up of mistakes, but they are mistakes which it is useful to make, because they lead little by little to the truth.”

Jules Verne
