Loyola recognises the value of a high-quality Physical Education (P.E.) curriculum. Here, we develop physical skills, fitness, and teamwork, laying the foundation for a healthy lifestyle. Through varied activities, from gymnastics and hockey to ball games that take place in our sports hall or on our Astro pitch, children build coordination, strength, and agility. Competitive sports play an essential role, offering students the chance to experience teamwork, fair play, and resilience. Through school tournaments, inter-school competitions, and friendly matches, children learn the values of sportsmanship and perseverance.
The school prides itself on offering a range of coaching both in curricular and extracurricular time. This includes: association football, rugby union, tag-rugby, athletics, hockey, cricket, cross-country, trampolining, badminton, tennis, swimming and sailing.
Most lessons or after-school sessions are taught by specialist PE staff, including a former professional footballer and qualified UEFA A (level 4) Coach.
PE is important to our boys and also supports social and emotional growth, boosting confidence and encouraging a love for staying active that can last a lifetime.
