Art, Design & Technology

Loyola boy in art suiteArt, Design and Technology (ADT) fosters creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills. Through activities such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and hands-on design projects, our pupils explore materials, learn techniques, and develop their own ideas.

At Loyola, we have a dedicated art suite where the boys can be as creative as they want in their lessons, sketch club or, after school in Get Creative (see clubs).

ADT encourages imaginative thinking and perseverance, helping children bring concepts to life while building fine motor skills and spatial awareness. By experimenting with colours, textures, and tools, students gain confidence in self-expression and critical thinking, laying the groundwork for creative exploration and innovation in their future learning. The work of famous artists such as Picasso, Kandinsky and Monet are used as inspiration and will often lead to visits to The Tate Modern or Henry Moore’s Sculpture Park.

“You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have”

Maya Angelou
